OcoTillo

Pronounced: ō - kə -ˈtē- yō

The ancient Aztecan word okotl means “torch” — bright red flowers atop long spiny stems of the Ocotillo that explode after monsoon rains.

These beautiful flowers stand out from everything else in the Sonoran Desert.

Meet Hollie

A 4th generation Tucsonan, Hollie moved to Portland in 2010 after receiving her education at Toni & Guy Hair Academy. As a Portland Aveda Institute educator specializing in cuts and color, she inspired dozens of stylists before returning to the salon.

Shortly after becoming an Aveda Master Stylist at Dosha Salon, she moved to Hood River in 2017. At Salon Visio, she became the salon educator, teaching the most updated industry standards on style, color, and techniques.

In her latest adventure, she continues to seek out the latest styles and trends. At Salon Ocotillo, a place inspired by the warm desert sun and vibrant culture of Arizona, she provides contemporary styles for the fresh, everyday Columbia Gorge look.

In 2022, Salon Ocotillo expanded with two more talented stylists, Callyn Stewart and Laura Maher, to provide even more opportunities for the best hair days in Hood River.
